Project Summary
Prostate cancer is the most common form of cancer among Canadian males. By 2036, the number of male seniors in Canada will double, bringing with it important implications for the management of short and long-term prostate cancer care in the healthcare system. Currently we have limited information on the associations between pain, sleep, substance use, mental health and healthcare utilization among men with and without a history of lifetime prostate cancer diagnosis. Yet such information is important to inform hospital-based and cancer center services which provide the necessary support to improve quality of life outcomes among prostate cancer survivors. The proposed study will use the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA) data.
