Measurement invariance of the cognition measures in the CLSA

Changes to cognitive functions like memory and executive functioning are a normal part of healthy cognitive aging. The cognitive measures in the CLSA are used to identify factors related to normal versus abnormal changes in cognition. It will be especially useful for individuals in rural and remote regions as it is a telephone-based cognitive test that may be administered remotely to improve access to specialists. However, test scores may be biased for individuals from different demographic groups, such as urban versus rural, male versus female etc. The purpose of this study is to document the degree of bias in the CLSA cognition measures with regard to geographic context, sex/gender, culture, age, and education.
