The genetics of alpha-synucleinopathies and other neurodegenerative diseases

REM sleep behavior disorder (RBD) is a prodromal condition to neurodegenerative diseases, primarily Parkinson’s disease (PD), dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), and multiple system atrophy (MSA). By characterizing the genetic components to the risk of RBD and neurological diseases, we will better understand the disease pathology of these conditions and enable genetic stratification for better clinical trials and treatments.
