Unforeseen consequences: understanding the relationship between epilepsy and vascular disease

Epilepsy is strongly associated with vascular disease in older adults. Why this occurs remains uncertain. The current proposal will study how vascular risk factors, disease and biomarkers are individually associated with epilepsy. We will also examine the influence of epilepsy medications, sociodemographics, lifestyle and behaviour on the relationship between epilepsy and vascular disease.
