Zhiwei Gao

Zhiwei Gao completed a bachelor of medicine (Tianjin Medical University, China) and MSc in clinical epidemiology and PhD in genetic epidemiology (University of Alberta, Canada). Before joining Memorial University of Newfoundland in November 2014, he finished one year postdoctoral training in epidemiology of Tuberculosis(University of Alberta, Canada).rnrnDr. Gao’s research interests are in the areas of epidemiology and genetic epidemiology of respiratory diseases, using large population-based datasets to study the environmental exposures and genetic risk factors (including gene-gene and gene-environment interactions) associated with respiratory dysfunction and diseases.
