UVic launches CLSA Data Collection Site

Wednesday, February 27, 2013

The Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA) and the University of Victoria (UVic) Centre on Aging are hosting the official opening of the CLSA Data Collection Site in Victoria.

An open house will take place to showcase the research facilities and data collection component of the Victoria site. Researchers from the UVic Centre on Aging will oversee data collected every three years from 3,000 Victoria residents aged 45 to 85, contributing to the largest study of aging ever undertaken in Canada. The UVic site is also home to a Computer-Assisted Telephone Interview centre that will collect information from another 2,500 B.C. participants by phone.

Media will have the opportunity to participate in a tour of the Data Collection Site, including demonstrations of the state-of-the-art equipment and assessment tools.
