CLSA at GSA 2012

The Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA) hosted a symposium at the 65th annual Scientific Meeting of the Gerontological Society of America (GSA).

The GSA conference was held in San Diego, Calif., from November 14-18, 2012. The 2012 theme was “Charting New Frontiers in Aging.”

The CLSA symposium, “Building a Platform for Research: The Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging,”  included presentations on a variety of topics:

  • Setting the Stage for a Research Platform on Aging
  • Sampling and Recruitment in the CLSA
  • Development of Chronic Disease Ascertainment Algorithms for the CLSA
  • A Novel Software Infrastructure for Large Epidemiological Studies

Susan Kirkland, co-principal investigator for the CLSA, was chair of the symposium. Yves Joanette, scientific director of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research Institute of Aging, provided the introductory remarks.
