Heart failure the focus of the next CLSA Webinar

The next presentation in the CLSA Webinar Series, “Heart Failure: The Perfect Storm in an Aging Society” will take place for April 27 at noon ET.

The webinar will be presented by Dr. George Heckman, associate professor with the School of Public Health and Health Systems at the University of Waterloo, and assistant clinical Professor of Medicine at McMaster University. Dr. Heckman’s research focuses the management of heart failure in long-term care and in other frail seniors.

Dr. Heckman holds the Schlegel Research Chair for Geriatric Medicine at the University of Waterloo Research Institute for Aging. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Additionally, he has been primary panelist for the Canadian Cardiovascular Society Consensus Conference on Heart Failure since 2005.

The CLSA webinar series features regular, online lectures from new, mid-career, and established health researchers who are interested in aging. The webinars provide a forum to discuss the latest health and aging research in Canada. The webinars run for one hour, with an opportunity for audience questions at the end of the talk.
