Project Summary
As the population of older Canadians (65 years and above) continues to grow, it becomes important to help them enjoy a good quality of life. Being satisfied with life is a key factor to successful aging and can add life to older adults’ years. The psychophysical, socioeconomic, and demographic factors of life satisfaction have been widely studied among older adults, with little attention given to health behaviours despite their potential for individual control and modification. Therefore, this study will analyze the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging data to estimate the effects of health behaviours on life satisfaction among older Canadians. By understanding how lifestyle choices affect life satisfaction, people can make changes very early to age successfully. The study findings will be useful for policymakers, healthcare workers, and anyone passionate about improving the quality of life of older Canadians.
