Project Summary

In the current context of an aging population and interregional variations in care in Quebec, understanding the use of end-of-life care is essential to adapt services to the needs of the population. However, many individual, environmental and organizational characteristics must be considered. We therefore propose to study the impact of interregional variations on the relationship between the supply and the use of care in the aging population. Spatial analysis and machine learning techniques will be used to characterize the supply of health services, the use of care and their relationship according to different geographical scales as well as levels of rurality and deprivation.
