Project Summary

This study seeks to examine the relationship between social isolation, functional social support, and memory in middle- and older-aged (45 to 85 years old) community-dwelling adults in Canada. Adjusting for sociodemographic factors, health comorbidities, and lifestyle variables, we will apply conditional process analysis to explore the role of functional social support as a mediator between social isolation and memory. Employing a longitudinal approach, the study will use data collected from the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA) over a three-year period.
