Webinar on April 16 to focus on identifying adults with epilepsy

A new screening instrument to identify adults with epilepsy in population-based studies will be explored in the next CLSA webinar on April 16, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Dr. Mark Keezer from the United Kingdom will discuss his work in the developing the new tool and how this work involved data from the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging.

Dr. Keezer is a clinical research fellow at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, in the United Kingdom. He completed his general medical and neurological training at McGill University in Montreal, followed by a Master’s in epidemiology. His research interests about epilepsy include methods of case ascertainment, comorbid conditions, premature mortality and gaps in epilepsy surgery.

The CLSA webinar series features regular, online lectures from new, mid-career, and established health researchers who are interested in aging. The webinars provide a forum to discuss the latest health and aging research in Canada. The webinars run for one hour, with an opportunity for audience questions at the end of the talk.
