Jennifer Boyko
Senior Manager, Scientific Operations
Jennifer Boyko holds a PhD in health research methodology and a graduate diploma in health services and policy research from McMaster University. Dr. Boyko has over 15 years of experience working within and in collaboration with academic health science centres and health system stakeholders on projects with local, provincial, national and international scope. She is also an experienced health services and policy researcher with expertise is knowledge translation and public health systems research. In her current role, she blends scientific and operational understandings of large-scale population health research projects to ensure a scientific lens is always considered with respect to CLSA operations. This requires on-going liaison with the Executive Committee, enabling unit leads, locally responsible investigators, directors, managers and others as required. She contributes to ensuring that the CLSA protocol is successfully implemented and operationalized with limited protocol deviations. She also ensures milestones and targets for successful data collection are reached, and processes are in place for effective operations, including staff training, QMS and data integrity, effective IT infrastructure development and optimization. Prior to joining the CLSA in 2019, Dr. Boyko held a scientist position at the Propel Centre for Population Health at the University of Waterloo. Dr. Boyko has also held various academic appointments at Ontario universities and professional positions with health services organizations, giving her broad perspective, knowledge and understanding of health and social issues in Canada
